The role of citizens, consumers and patients is becoming ever more significant when it comes to healthcare.
On the one hand, the health society – with its increasingly complex health systems and growing health markets – demands active and competent involvement in maintaining health and in the (self-) management of chronic conditions. On the other, patients themselves are developing new forms of empowerment and mutual support, e.g. with the creative use of new information technologies, Internet-based platforms and social networks.
Together with national and international partners, the Careum Congress will present a wide range of patient-related innovations in healthcare, health policies and on the healthcare market.
