2007: 125-Year Anniversary
The Careum Foundation, originally known as the Zurich-Fluntern Red Cross Nursing School and Hospital «Stiftung Schwesternschule und Krankenhaus vom Roten Kreuz Zürich-Fluntern», was established in 1882.
In 2007, Careum celebrated its 125-year anniversary
The Foundation sees this milestone as an opportunity to examine the past, present and future of its primary purpose – training for healthcare professions.
Its publication “Grenzen aufheben, Thesen zur Zukunft der Ausbildung für Gesundheitsberufe” (Overcoming boundaries: Ideas on the future of training for healthcare professions) deals in detail with these aspects.
Careum celebrated its anniversary with its publication and three events:
- Commemorative publication
- Official ceremony on 11 January 2007
- Careum congress from 11–12 September 2007
- Open day on 6 October 2007
