Careum Patient Education

For the past 130 years, healthcare training has been at the heart of Careum’s work. Patient education is a new area of Careum's engagement, which aims to promote patient skills in selfmanaging with both chronic illness and its consequences, as well as making full use of the healthcare system. Our health-conscious society requires patients to actively and fully engage in maintaining their own health, to cope with chronic illness within an increasingly complex healthcare system, and to participate in a growing healthcare market. To obtain such skills can be challenging – even in Switzerland. Careum Patient Education seeks to support chronic illness self-management of patients and their families.
