Construction of Campus

Flanked by the streets Gloriastrasse, Moussonstrasse and Pestalozzistrasse, the Careum Foundation built its campus in the heart of the university and hospital district.

The premises, which was constructed in two phases, comprises five buildings, each with a different purpose.

Careum’s campus fulfils a unique role in Zurich’s cityscape – making the transition from the villa district to the built-up university and hospital district. The simple, clean lines of the buildings and the open, lush outdoor space help make the area attractive and distinctive.

The campus boasts a dynamic configuration of buildings and open space. While the school, with its spacious outdoor area, faces the hospital and universities and is a focal point in the district, the park grounds surrounding the apartment buildings create an atmosphere of peace and quiet, providing privacy for residents. The multiple pathways, lawns and squares offer students and residents plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

The construction project was completed in two phases between 2002 and 2007. The property is 12,200 square metres, while the total floor space of the buildings comes to 17,000 square metres. Two-thirds of this area is dedicated to the training of healthcare professions, the rest is divided among 42 apartments between 3 ½ and 6 ½ rooms.
